Iowans will soon uncover the diverse tapestry of our state’s people, cultures and stories with Iowa Life, an upcoming series from Iowa PBS. The magazine-style show is set to premiere on the statewide network in October.

Through compelling interviews, scenic visuals and authentic storytelling, Iowa Life will shine a spotlight on the cultural gems and inspiring stories that make the state extraordinary. Each episode will explore the exceptional lives of individuals who call Iowa home, from a city councilman who created an entire town festival around a famous sci-fi show to a history professor who hiked across the state to document the changes of Iowa’s natural resources.

“We’ve been traveling all over the state this past summer collecting stories,” said Iowa PBS Senior Producer and Director Cameron McCoy. “I can’t wait to introduce our viewers to the individuals we are featuring this season and to share their Iowa experience, inspiration and impact.”

The series’ inaugural season premieres Tuesday, October 10, 2023 on the statewide public television network’s primary channel and livestream. Season 1 consists of 13, 30-minute episodes, including a holiday special. Viewers across the state and beyond are encouraged to join Iowa PBS this fall and dive into the culture of our state, discovering the extraordinary within the ordinary.

In addition to its statewide broadcast, Iowa PBS .1 is available to livestream on iowapbs.org/watch, pbs.org/livestream, the PBS App and YouTube TV. Iowa PBS programs, behind-the-scenes extras and more can be enjoyed on iowapbs.org, Facebook and YouTube. Viewers can also stream their favorite shows on demand using the PBS App, available on iOS, Android and many streaming devices.
