Iowa PBS is proud to present the 2024 Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards Showcase on Tuesday, July 9 at 8 p.m. This two-hour highlights program showcases the opening number and finale, selections from the various medleys performed by the students and the announcement of the Triple Threat Award. It will be rebroadcast Sunday, July 14 at 4 p.m. and will be available for a limited time for on-demand streaming on iowapbs.org and the PBS App.

The Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards Showcase is an unforgettable evening of entertainment celebrating Iowa’s high school musical theater productions.

“Every year I am more and more impressed with the talent the participating schools display at the showcase,” said Iowa PBS Executive Producer Andrea Coyle. “It is a testament to the importance and sheer necessity of the performing arts in Iowa’s schools.”

This year, a record number of 102 schools were adjudicated by theater professionals traveling across the state to review the productions. The year culminates with students from the selected schools coming together in this professionally produced awards showcase.

This is a can’t-miss program for anyone who loves musicals and believes in the power of the arts to impact young people.
