Iowa PBS to Provide Free, Live Coverage of the 2024 IGHSAU Girls State Softball Championships

Don’t miss any of the girls state softball action! As Iowa girls battle to get their tickets punched to the state tournament, Iowa PBS is preparing for live coverage of the championship games.

The statewide network’s commitment to girls high school sports coverage continues as teams from across the state take to the field for the 2024 IGHSAU Girls State Softball Championships. Coverage of each class title game will take place Thursday, July 25 starting at 5 p.m. and Friday, July 26 starting at 2:30 p.m. at Harlan Rogers Park in Fort Dodge. Each match will be broadcast live on statewide Iowa PBS and livestreamed on FacebookYouTube and iowapbs.org.

Live coverage will be as follows*:

Thursday, July 25

  • Class 5A at 5 p.m.
  • Class 4A at 7:30 p.m.

Friday, July 26

  • Class 3A at 2:30 p.m.
  • Class 2A at 5 p.m.
  • Class 1A at 7:30 p.m.

Along with unparalleled coverage of the championships, Iowa PBS will feature Brad Wells and Aly Cappaert as announcers for the 5A and 4A games. Paul Yeager and Laura Leonard will announce the 3A, 2A and 1A games.
