The National Educational Telecommunications Association announced the finalists for the 56th Annual Public Media Awards today. Iowa PBS is a finalist in four categories:

The Public Media Awards, presented by NETA, honor association members’ finest work in community engagement, content, education and marketing. The awards represent a mosaic of relevant content that reflects both creativity and diversity and paints rich stories of truth and consequence.

Award winners will be announced at the PMA Gala on Sunday, September 15, at the 2024 NETA Conference and CPB Public Media Thought Leader Forum held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

With the exception of the overall excellence categories, stations or statewide networks compete within their divisions based on their size. Awards are judged by a group of expert panelists from within the public media system, as well as industry professionals working outside of public media. More information, including a full list of nominees, can be found at netaonline.org.
