Iowa PBS Presents the 2025 IGHSAU Girls State Basketball Championships

Don’t miss any of the girls state basketball action! As Iowa girls battle to get their tickets punched to the state tournament, Iowa PBS is preparing for their 10th year of live coverage of the championship games.
The statewide network’s commitment to girls high school sports coverage continues as teams from across the state take to the court for the IGHSAU Girls State Basketball Championships. Coverage of each class’ title game will take place Friday, March 7 and Saturday, March 8, live from Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Each game will be broadcast on statewide Iowa PBS and livestreamed on YouTube and iowapbs.org.
The unparalleled coverage of the championships will include Paul Yeager as the nightly host covering the Iowa PBS Sports Pregame Show, plus all the halftime pageantry and awards. Calling the 2A and 3A games will be Brad Wells and former Pocahontas Area High School standout, Elle Ruffridge. B.J. Schaben and Laura Leonard will team up to call the 1A, 4A and 5A championships.
