“Cedar Rapids is home to rich stories, fascinating buildings and vibrant art, all woven into the community.” said Iowa PBS Senior Producer Andrew Batt. “It’s rewarding to showcase our state’s incredible architecture with the Historic Buildings of Iowa programs. Iowans continue to discover, or re-discover, the cities and buildings within their own state.”
Historic Buildings of Iowa: Cedar Rapids soars across the city to take viewers through some of the city’s most iconic sites. Featured structures include:
● The Paramount Theatre with its stunning décor recently restored after devastating flood damage

● The Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, along with the Grant Wood Studio, showcasing one of Iowa’s most famous native artists
● The Brucemore Mansion, set on a sprawling estate, signifying the wealth and culture of a bygone era
● The National Czech and Slovak Museum, celebrating the culture and history of immigrants from the Czech and Slovak Republics who found a home in America and in Iowa
