Iowa PBS announces Paul Yeager as Market to Market host
Iowa PBS announced today that Producer Director Paul Yeager is the new host of Market to Market, Iowa PBS’s weekly, nationally syndicated agribusiness program. Market to Market’s news and in-depth analysis on the $1 trillion business of agriculture is seen by viewers across Iowa and 20 other states.
"Paul brings more than two decades of reporting and anchoring experience to the Market to Market table,” said David Miller, executive producer of the program. “Growing up on an Iowa farm, he learned a work ethic that has given him an understanding of what it means to live and work in rural America.”
Yeager joined the Market to Market team in 2010. During the last decade he has contributed to the program as both reporter and fill-in host. He supports the program’s social media and also launched the MtoM Podcast, which now boasts more than 200 episodes with informal, behind-the-scenes conversations on issues vital to the farm economy.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has emphasized the vital role agriculture plays in our everyday lives,” said Yeager. “Market to Market provides the fundamentals of how food gets from gate to plate, as well as information on today’s supply chains and distribution. I hope to continue providing trusted information for all generations on and off the farm to support Iowa’s most important business - feeding the world.”
Originally from Jesup, Iowa, Yeager graduated from Wartburg College. He began his broadcast career at KIMT-TV in Mason City reporting news, weather and sports, eventually anchoring the weekend news. In 2000, Yeager joined KWQC in Davenport as weekend anchor. He moved to the Des Moines area in 2006 to run the assignment desk at WHO-TV. He joined the staff of Iowa Public Television (now Iowa PBS) in 2007 where he eventually hosted The Iowa Journal. Three years later, Yeager became a reporter for Market to Market. Yeager has also and will continue to serve as the host of Iowa PBS Sports.
“Market to Market is well served by Paul’s journalistic experience and his genuine affection for Iowa and his farming roots,” said Molly Phillips, Iowa PBS’s executive director and general manager. “He is inspired by today’s technology, bringing Iowa PBS closer to its audience than ever before, while at the same time committed to its legacy of compelling content, which has made Market to Market the longest-running program of its kind.”
Market to Market is a production of Iowa PBS. Major funding is provided by Corteva, Grinnell Mutual, Sukup Manufacturing and public television stations across the country.
