2022 came to an end and we are looking forward to an even better 2023 with our local storytelling! But before we move forward it only made sense to highlight our new shows and episodes that premiered in 2022.

Greetings From Iowa tells stories rooted in our state’s people, arts and culture. The newest season took a closer look at unique stories, community cornerstones, spaces of learning, unique people and more!
A new digital series came to life on Iowa PBS this past year. Crafts From the Past reintroduced hobbies from decades past, offering a primer to various techniques by experienced Iowa makers. Take a look at what we created and create yourself!
Telling Our Own Story features stories of Black Iowans in their own words. These stories explore the history of religion, civil rights, economics, entertainment, the military and more as it relates to Black Iowans.
Ballet Des Moines brought us Of Gravity and Light. A contemporary work exploring the beauty and wonder of space through ethereal imagery, abstract sound and remarkable movement. This performance makes complex scientific concepts human and accessible.
We also tackled topics that are more than often difficult to talk about. Facing Suicide in Iowa showcased the stories of two Iowan families and shone a light on how we can recognize warning signs in young adults struggling with mental health.
Governors of Iowa premiered in October 2022, featuring two of Iowa’s impactful governors. Governors of Iowa: Robert D. Ray and Governors of Iowa: Harold Hughes takes us back in history to learn more about how they rose to governor and showcased the triumphs and tribulations they faced.
