Natural Egg Dye
Ingredients
2 beets - for purple dye
2 c. yellow onion peels - for orange dye
turmeric - for yellow dye
1/2 head red cabbage - for blue dye
hard-boiled eggs
Directions
Bring chopped vegetable matter and 2 cups of water to a boil. Cover and turn heat to low. Simmer for about 60 minutes until the water reaches a deep hue.
Let water cool and strain into bowls or mason jars. Add 1-2 tablespoons of vinegar to each jar.
Add hard-boiled eggs to dye liquid and refrigerate until the desired color is reached. Letting them sit overnight will produce the deepest shades.
