Wassail

Ingredients

2 qt. Apple cider
2 c. orange juice
1/2 c. lemon juice
12 whole cloves
4 cinnamon sticks
Experiment with additional spices like cardamom, nutmeg, ginger and star anise - or use a prepared mulling mix.

Directions

In a slow-cooker or a large pot over low heat, combine all of the juices and season with the spices. Bring to a simmer, then turn the heat to low and allow to simmer all day. Serve hot. If desired, add a bit of whisky, bourbon, brandy or rum when serving.
