Mushroom Gravy
Ingredients
1 large onion, chopped
1/2 pound mushrooms, sliced
4 tablespoons butter
1 Tablespoon thyme
1 cup red wine
2 cups water
1 tsbp vegetable bouillon concentrate
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup water
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Directions
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, saute onions and mushrooms in butter until tender and mushrooms release their moisture. Add thyme, red wine, and 2 cups water; stir until mixed.
In a mason jar add bouillon concentrate, 1 cup water, and flour. Seal with lid and shake until blended thoroughly. Pour into mushroom pan and bring back to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer until thickened. Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
